Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 - Overnight Flight
Board your overnight flight bound for Barcelona.

Day 2 - Barcelona
Arrive in Barcelona. Meet your Travel Director at the airport and transfer to your centrally located hotel. Start exploring the city on an orientation walk before your group welcome dinner.

Day 3 - Barcelona
Get to know Barcelona on a guided tour of the city including highlights such as the main pedestrian boulevard Las Ramblas, the Sagrada Familia Basilica and Park Güell. For lunch you will visit the spectacular La Boquería market, and spend the afternoon at the famous Barceloneta beach.

Day 4 - Barcelona
This morning, take an excursion to Montserrat to visit the 9th century, Montserrat Monastery, the Black Madonna and explore Montserrat Natural Park. This afternoon, return to Barcelona and enjoy the afternoon at the beach!

Day 5 - Paris
This morning board the high speed train from Barcelona to Paris. After checking into your hotel, go to the iconic Eiffel Tower and take in the views from the top! Later this evening, take a stroll around Montmartre and the spectacular Basilica of Sacré-Coeur.

Day 6 - Paris
Today, enjoy a guided tour of Paris focusing on important Parisian sights such as the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysées and the Opera House. Later, meet some local Parisians for a picnic and to play a few rounds of Pétanque.

Day 7 - Paris
Morning visit to the Palace of Versailles. Learn about the life in the court of Louis XIV, Le Roi Soleil as you walk around the palace and have a picnic lunch in the opulent gardens. Tonight, return to Paris for an interactive French cooking lesson with a local chef.

An Artist’s Haven

You’ll have to climb 270 steps to get to the top of the hill in Montmartre to visit Paris’ second most visited site, Sacré Coeur. From here you can also enjoy panoramic sweeping views of the city. including a birds eye view of the Eiffel Tower. Montmartre is a lovely area with fantastic restaurants and cafes, art galleries and museums. Van Gogh, Picasso, Degas, Toulouse-Lautrec are just a few of the great artists who lived or painted in Montmartre.

Day 8 - Bruges
Today cross the border from France and in to Belgium. Your first stop will be in Brussels where you will see the Grand-Place, the Atomium and various European Union buildings. You will also visit the European Commission to learn about its role as the executive branch of the European Union. Continue to Bruges, a medieval town with cobble-stoned lanes and beautiful canals.

Day 9 - Bruges
Delve into the history of World War I as you visit the Flanders Battlefields. Visit Flanders Field Museum and the Menin Gate Memorial to the fallen soldiers of the war. Return to Bruges and visit the Choco-Story, the Chocolate Museum.

Day 10 - Amsterdam
Cross another border today from Belgium to The Netherlands. Your first stop will be the town of Kinderdijk which is known for its picturesque 18th century windmills, visit the iconic windmills during a scenic bicycle ride. Later, continue on to Amsterdam.

Day 11 - Amsterdam
Visit the Anne Frank House, and see the cramped annex where the young girl and her family hid from the Nazis for two years. The house is now a museum which has preserved the hiding place and contains an exhibition on the life and times of Anne Frank.

Day 12 - Berlin
Board a train from Amsterdam to Berlin. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel and begin to explore this historical and dynamic city that has risen from the scars of recent history to reclaim its splendor as the capital of a reunified Germany during your orientation walking tour.

Day 13 - Berlin
Enjoy a guided visit with highlights that include portions of the Berlin Wall, the Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust Memorial, Potsdamer Platz and Checkpoint Charlie. Enjoy a unique walking tour which explores Berlin’s vibrant street art scene. Afterwards, participate in a street art workshop with a local artist who will teach you techniques to create your own piece of art to take home with you.

Did You Know?

Like Berlin, Vienna was also divided into four parts after World War II. It was occupied by United States, France, the United Kingdom and the Soviet Union. The occupation, and division, of Vienna ended in 1955 with the Austrian State Treaty.

Day 14 - Prague
Travel to Prague, and stop along the way in Dresden, for a guided sightseeing tour including the Frauenkirche (Church of our Lady) and the massive Zwinger Palace. Tonight, take an orientation walking tour of Prague!

Day 15 - Prague
Enjoy a guided tour of this beautiful city. Amongst many highlights you will see the Malá Strana (Lesser Quarter) and the graceful Charles Bridge built in the 14th century. Next visit the Hradčany Castle complex high above the city. In the evening, take a boat cruise along the River Vltava to see the illuminated buildings of Prague.

Day 16 - Vienna
This morning, drive from Prague to Vienna. This afternoon, learn about the world famous Viennese Waltz during an interactive demonstration and lesson with a professional dancer. Afterwards, enjoy hot chocolate and "sachertorte" in a local cafe. After dinner, attend a concert featuring the music of Austrian composers Mozart and Strauss.

Day 17 - Vienna
Today, take a guided tour of Vienna including the Ringstrasse, the Hofburg Palace, the Opera House and St. Stephen's Cathedral. Later, enjoy some free time to shop some of the local markets, and cafes!

Day 18 - Zagreb
This morning depart Austria for Croaita. Travel to Zagreb, where you will see Gornji grad (Upper Town) and Donji grad (Lower Town). Check out the view of the twin neo-Gothic spires of Zagreb Cathedral and visit Dolac Market with the famous Ban Jelacic Square honoring the well known army general.

Day 19 - Plitvice Area
This morning drive from Zagreb to the spectacular Plitvice Lakes - a chain of 16 lakes connected to waterfalls that flow into a limestone canyon. Marvel at this natural wonder as you hike around its trails and footbridges!

Day 20 - Ljubljana
This morning depart Zagreb for Ljubljana, Slovenia's capital and home to the country’s largest university. After checking into your hotel, take a walk through Tivoli Park, Ljubljana, is know for it’s vast green space and for being environmentally friendly.

Day 21 - Ljubjana
Take a guided tour of Ljubljana. See the Old Square before crossing the Dragon Bridge on the way to Market Square. Explore the city's highlights such as the Triple Bridge, City Hall Square and the Bishop's Palace. After dinner, take a stroll along the river.

The Legend of the Trevi Fountain

Legend has it that if you throw a coin over your shoulder into the Trevi Fountain that you will return to Rome. Throw two and you will fall in love, throw three and you’ll get married. This legend is so popular that every day over 3,000 Euros are collected from the water and given to a local charity that supports families in need throughout Rome.

Day 22 - Venice / Mestre
Today, visit the stunning Postojna Cave, where a mini train will take you through a complex system of passages and dramatically lit chambers, formed over by the Pivka River over the years. After your visit enjoy views of Predjama Castle. Later, continue on to Venice.

Day 23 - Venice / Mestre
Today, explore the beautiful city of Venice, the Queen of the Adriatic. Here you will enjoy a guided sightseeing which will include St. Mark’s Square where you can see the Basilica of St. Mark and the Doges Palace. You will also walk along canals and bridges such as the famous Rialto Bridge before taking a gondola ride through the city. In the afternoon, learn all about the art of Venetian glass-blowing in a demonstration by a local master.

Day 24 - Tuscany
This morning drive through the countryside to Tuscany. Take a guided walking tour with an expert local guide through Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance. See the highlights of this beautiful city, such as Florence’s cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore, Ghiberti’s famous Baptistry Doors, Santa Croce and the Piazza della Signoria. Later, travel out to the country side, check-in to your hotel, and enjoy a traditional Italian dinner.

Day 25 - Tuscany
This morning, visit an organic farm in the Tuscan countryside where you will learn about local agriculture, and help out on the farm. You’ll pick your own produce and learn to make a traditional Italian farm to table lunch (lunch is included). Later, explore the city of Lucca, which is known for it well-preserved Renaissance walls encircling its historic city center and its cobblestone streets, enjoy some free time to shop, and eat your share of gelato.

Day 26 - Umbria
This morning drive south to the region of Umbria where you will take part in a team building experience - rafting on the River Nera, the largest tributary to the Tiber. Take in the incredible scenery, and swim in the crystal clear waters. After a day in nature, your dinner and overnight will be in the Umbria region.

Day 27 - Rome
This morning travel from Umbria to Rome. After lunch, a local guide will introduce you to the smallest state in the world, Vatican City. You’ll visit Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel, and Saint Peter's Basilica. Tonight, visit the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps.

Day 28 - Rome
This morning a guided tour will introduce you to the sites of ancient Rome. Explore the Forum and Colosseum - one of the most impressive sights in Rome and one of the world’s most famous venues that would hold gladiatorial games and drama to battles of exotic animals and battleships. The building was completed in 80 A.D. and at its peak held 87,000 spectators. Later, see some of Rome’s most beautiful and iconic sites illuminated at night, such as the Pantheon, and Piazza Navona.

Day 29 - Rome
Spend your last day with your friends on the seaside town of Ostia, enjoy the beach, and the local shops and cafes. Return to Rome for your farewell dinner!

Day 30 - Departure Day
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to USA.
