Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Quebec City & Introduction to French-Canadian Culture

Arrive in Quebec City and settle into your hotel. Begin the journey with a guided walking tour of Old Quebec, where students will explore the historic cobblestone streets, learning about the region’s French colonial history. They’ll visit landmarks like Château Frontenac and the fortified city walls. In the evening, students will have a fun introduction to French-Canadian cuisine through an interactive poutine-making workshop, where they can create and taste this iconic dish.

Day 2: Outdoor Adventure & Snowshoeing in Montmorency Falls

In the morning, students will experience the winter wonderland of Quebec by heading to Montmorency Falls, where they’ll embark on a snowshoeing adventure. Guides will teach them about the region’s unique winter ecology and the history of the falls. After lunch, students will visit the Musée de l’Amérique francophone, where they will engage in an interactive exhibit to learn more about the French-speaking cultures of North America. In the afternoon, they’ll take part in a French language scavenger hunt around Old Quebec, using clues written in French.

Day 3: History Comes Alive at the Plains of Abraham & Cultural Immersion

Students will start the day by visiting the Plains of Abraham, one of Canada’s most significant historical sites. Here, they will participate in a hands-on educational program, learning about the famous battle between the French and British forces during the Seven Years’ War. They’ll explore the battlefield and gain insights into military strategies, followed by interactive role-playing activities. In the evening, students will experience a traditional Québécois meal at a cabane à sucre (sugar shack). Here, they’ll learn about maple syrup production and take part in fun winter activities like taffy-making on snow, all while enjoying live music.

Day 4: Exploring the Forts & Departure

On the final morning, students will visit the Musée du Fort, where they’ll enjoy an engaging multimedia presentation about Quebec City’s fortifications and the key battles that shaped its history. Afterward, students will have some time to explore the exhibits and ask questions. Before departing, they will take a relaxing stroll through the Old City, soaking in the wintry atmosphere and practicing their French with local vendors. After lunch, the group will head to the airport, departing with a deeper understanding of Quebec’s rich history, culture, and winter traditions.
