Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 - Overnight Flight
Board your overnight flight to Athens, Greece. As they say in Greece - Kaló taxídi!

Day 2 - Athens
Arrive in Athens. After collecting your luggage and clearing customs you will meet your Travel Director, board your private motor coach and transfer to your centrally located hotel. Enjoy your first taste of the local cuisine at a welcome dinner this evening.

Day 3 - Athens
This morning a local guide will introduce you to Athens and it’s fascinating history and architectural wonders. You’ll climb the Acropolis and visit the Parthenon, the iconic symbol of Athens and learn all about this former temple dedicated to the goddess Athena.

Did You Know?

Greeks are famously superstitious. One of the most common superstitions is the evil eye or “mati”. It is thought that anyone can cast the evil eye on someone out of jealousy or envy. To ward off Mati Greeks often wear a talisman - a popular souvenir that you can bring home.

Day 4 - Olympia
Today’s journey begins with a visit to the famous Corinth Canal. Continue to the ruins of Epidaurus for a guided visit including one of the world's best preserved amphitheaters. Lastly, visit Mycenae, where a local guide will show you the highlights such as the Lion Gate, Royal Tombs and the Acropolis.  This afternoon learn the ancient secrets and traditions of the art of pottery making at a workshop.  Dinner and overnight will be in Olympia.

Day 5 - Delphi
This morning enjoy a guided visit of Olympia - birthplace of the Olympic games and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll visit the Olympic Stadium and Archaeological Museum. Continue on to Delphi where you will be welcomed by local families to share a meal in their homes.

Day 6 - Kalambaka
A local expert will show you the ruins of the site where the ancient Greeks asked for insight from the famous Oracle. You will see the Apollo Temple and the Delphi Museum.  Later transfer to Kalambaka which is situated at the foot of the Meterora rock formation.

Did you know that the ancient greek alphabet is the oldest written language still in use today.

Day 7 - Athens
See the spectacular scenery and visit the majestic Byzantine monastaries of Meteora. Please note, appropriate attire is requires to visit the monasteries. Later, return to Athens for dinner and overnight.

Day 8 - Athens
Transfer to the port and embark on a cruise of the Saronic Islands of Aegina, Poros and Hydra.  These islands are known for their art and culture, history and natural beauty. Lunch is included and served on board. Return to Athens in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 9 - Departure Day
Transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
