Day by Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Departure Day

Your adventure begins as you fly to Washington, D.C., where you’ll meet your local program director upon arrival. After settling in, the evening kicks off with a breathtaking big bus tour of the city’s illuminated monuments. You’ll visit iconic landmarks such as the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and Korean War Veterans Memorial, setting the stage for an unforgettable journey through American history.

Day 2: Foundations of American Democracy

The day starts with a visit to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, where you’ll explore groundbreaking aviation and space exhibits, including historic aircraft and spacecraft. In the afternoon, you’ll take a guided tour of the U.S. Capitol Building, gaining firsthand insight into the workings of the American government. The day ends with an exciting team-building activity at an escape room, where you’ll collaborate with your group to solve puzzles and challenges before time runs out.

Day 3: Reflecting on History

The morning begins with a visit to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, a powerful and moving experience that provides deep insight into the atrocities of the Holocaust. In the afternoon, you’ll explore the National Museum of American History, where exhibits showcase key moments in the nation’s past through artifacts, interactive displays, and engaging storytelling. The evening includes dinner and an activity, offering time to reflect on the day’s experiences.

Day 4: Monuments and Memorials

This morning you’ll visit Arlington National Cemetery. Pay your respects to America’s missing service members at The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, watch the Changing of the Guard, visit President John F. Kennedy’s Gravesite and many other memorial and monuments honoring events and individuals that have played an important role in shaping our nation. Later, take a walking tour of significant memorials, including the World War II Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, and Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial, each offering a unique perspective on American history and leadership. The evening will be spent preparing for your departure to New York City the following morning.

Day 5: Arrival in New York City

Travel to New York City in the morning and check into your accommodations. In the afternoon, you’ll take a ferry to Liberty Island for an up-close look at the Statue of Liberty, followed by a visit to Ellis Island, where you’ll learn about the immigrant experience and its role in shaping America. The evening ends with a walking tour of Midtown, where you’ll witness the dazzling lights and bustling energy of Times Square.

Day 6: Exploring Manhattan

Begin the day with a scenic walk along the High Line, a unique elevated park that leads to Chelsea Market, where you’ll have time to explore and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, step into the fascinating world of the Museum of Illusions, where interactive exhibits challenge perception and reality. As night falls, take in panoramic views of the New York skyline from the Top of the Rock Observation Deck at Rockefeller Center (or possibly the Empire State Building).

Day 7: Science and Espionage

Start the day at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, where you’ll explore the legendary USS Intrepid aircraft carrier, the space shuttle Enterprise, and other exhibits highlighting aviation and naval history. In the afternoon, dive into the world of secret agents at SPYSCAPE, an interactive museum that offers an inside look at the history and techniques of espionage. The evening brings the perfect grand finale to your trip—an unforgettable Broadway show!

Day 8: Fly Home

After an incredible journey filled with history, culture, and adventure, it’s time to head to the airport and fly home, taking with you lasting memories and new perspectives from your time in Washington, D.C., and New York City.
