Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 - Overnight Flight
Board your overnight flight to Rome, Italy.

Day 2 - Rome
Arrive in Rome. After collecting your luggage and clearing customs meet your Travel Director, board your private motor coach and transfer to your centrally located hotel. Later enjoy an orientation walk before your welcome dinner.

Day 3 - Rome
This morning a guided tour will introduce you to the sites of ancient Rome. Explore the Colosseum - one of the most impressive sights in Rome and one of the world’s most famous venues that would hold gladiatorial games and drama to battles of exotic animals and battleships. The building was completed in 80 A.D. and at its peak held 87,000 spectators. You’ll also visit the Forum and later participate in Gladiator School at Castrum Legionis.

Did You Know?

The Forum is like a fairy tale with its mosaic of temple ruins, worn marble streets and basilicas. Located in the valley between the Palatine hill and the Capitoline hill, the Forum was the commercial, political, and religious centre of ancient Rome. When the Roman Empire fell, the Forum became forgotten, buried and was used as a cattle pasture during the Middle Ages.

Day 4 - Rome
A local guide will introduce you to the smallest state in the world, Vatican City, situated in Rome. This is the home of the Pope but also home to almost 1,000 other residents. You’ll visit Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel, Saint Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Gardens. You will have the opportunity to meet with a retired member of the Swiss Guard - a force dedicated to the protection of the Pope. Later, you’ll take an interactive cooking lesson on the art and tradition of cannoli making.

Day 5 - Florence / Tuscany
En route to Florence, you will stop at an olive grove and learn all about the secrets and traditions of producing this staple of the Mediterranean diet. Later, continue on through the Tuscan countryside for your stay in a local Agriturismo.

Day 6 - Florence / Tuscany
Enjoy a guided walk with an expert local guide, who will show you the highlights of this beautiful city such as Florence’s cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore, Ghiberti’s famous Baptistry Doors, Santa Croce and the Piazza della Signoria. Return to the Tuscan countryside for your stay at a agriturismo.

Florence is the birthplace of gelato? Created in the 16th century by Cosimo Ruggieri it is the perfect treat after a long day of exploring!

Day 7 - Venice / Padua
Transfer to the beautiful city of Padua, founded according to legend over 3000 years ago. On the way, you will visit a local pasta making company, where you’ll learn to make homemade pasta which you will enjoy for lunch. Later, arrive into Padua and explore the medieval streets, visit the Basilica of St. Antonio and shop the local markets.

Day 8 - Venice / Padua
This morning arrive in the beautiful city of Venice, the Queen of the Adriatic. Here you will enjoy a guided sightseeing which will include St. Mark’s Square where you can see the Basilica of St. Mark and the Doges Palace. You will also walk along canals and bridges such as the famous Rialto Bridge before taking a gondola ride through the city. In the afternoon, learn all about the art of Venetian glass-blowing in a demonstration by a local master. Continue to Padua for overnight and farewell dinner.

Day 9 - Departure Day
Transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
