Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Depart for Iceland
Your journey begins with an overnight flight from the USA to Reykjavik, Iceland, where you’ll embark on an empowering adventure with your fellow Girl Scouts.
Day 2 – Welcome to Reykjavik
Touch down in the Land of Fire and Ice! Start your adventure by exploring Viking World, learning about Iceland’s Viking heritage and the powerful women of Viking history. Afterward, bond with your troop at the Blue Lagoon, where you’ll relax and reflect in the warm, rejuvenating waters. Settle into Reykjavik for dinner and get excited for the journey ahead.
Day 3 – Snæfellsnes Peninsula Adventure
Explore the stunning Snæfellsnes Peninsula, where you’ll walk along the black pebble beach of Djúpalónssandur and admire the iconic Mount Kirkjufell. Discover Iceland’s volcanic landscapes and learn about how nature has shaped the country. This day offers opportunities for personal reflection on the beauty and strength of the environment, perfect for inspiring your own leadership and resilience.
Day 4 – Whale Watching & Reykjavik Exploration
Set sail on an unforgettable whale-watching excursion, where you’ll have the chance to see powerful creatures up close, learning about the importance of marine conservation. Back in Reykjavik, explore the city through a guided walking tour, visiting the towering Hallgrimskirkja Church and the lively downtown area. This day emphasizes environmental stewardship and cultural appreciation—values Girl Scouts cherish.
Day 5 – Golden Circle Exploration
Begin with a visit to the Hellisheidi Geothermal Power Plant to learn about Iceland’s renewable energy efforts, inspiring girls to think about sustainable solutions. Continue to the Friðheimar greenhouse to see how Iceland’s geothermal energy helps grow food sustainably, reinforcing the importance of innovation. Explore the famous Geysir Geothermal Area and Gullfoss Waterfall, and end the day at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You’ll walk between tectonic plates, reflecting on the power of nature and the importance of protecting our planet.
Day 6 – Eyjafjallajökull Volcano & Glacier Hike
Today is all about adventure and empowerment! Visit the Lava Centre to explore Iceland’s active geology, then challenge yourself with a glacier hike on Solheimajökull. Embrace teamwork and perseverance as you navigate the icy landscape. End the day at Reynisfjara’s black sand beach, reflecting on the challenges you’ve faced and conquered during your adventure.
Day 7 – Icelandic Horses & Reykjavik Farewell
Start your final day with an exciting horseback ride on Iceland’s famous Icelandic horses, learning about their unique history and strong spirit. Back in Reykjavik, enjoy some free time to explore the city, shop for meaningful souvenirs, and celebrate your achievements. Reflect on your journey during a special farewell dinner, where you’ll celebrate the friendships and personal growth gained during your time in Iceland.
Day 8 – Departure
Transfer to the airport for your flight home, taking with you not only unforgettable memories but also a sense of empowerment and a deeper understanding of the world around you. You’ll leave Iceland as a more confident and globally-minded Girl Scout, ready to take on new challenges and adventures.
