Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Overnight Flight

Board your overnight flight bound for Frankfurt, Germany, as you begin your Girl Scout journey through Europe filled with adventure, cultural immersion, and opportunities for growth.

Day 2: Welcome to Heidelberg, Germany

Arrive in Frankfurt, meet your Travel Director, and transfer to Heidelberg. Start with an orientation walk around this charming university town, known for its picturesque setting and historical significance. In the evening, settle into your hotel and join your group for a welcome dinner, reflecting on the journey ahead.

Day 3: Heidelberg Castle & Philosopher’s Walk

Begin your day by visiting the iconic Heidelberg Castle, exploring the castle’s courtyard, the German Pharmacy Museum, and the famous 50,000-gallon wine barrel. Stroll through the historic gardens once considered the Eighth Wonder of the World. In the afternoon, take a scenic hike along the “Philosopher’s Walk” on the banks of the Neckar River, offering stunning views of the town and castle. This walk will inspire moments of reflection, encouraging you to embrace curiosity and exploration.

Day 4: Colmar, France & Lucerne, Switzerland

Travel to Colmar, France, a town that inspired Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, where you’ll enjoy a walking tour of the colorful, medieval streets and take some time to shop at the Marché Couvert. In the afternoon, continue to Lucerne, Switzerland, known for its breathtaking scenery and alpine charm. Spend your evening exploring this beautiful Swiss city.

Day 5: Mount Pilatus & Alpine Adventure

Take a cable car and cog railway to the summit of Mount Pilatus, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding Alps. Experience an empowering alpine adventure with zip-lining, balancing, and climbing activities in the Swiss woods, capped off by a thrilling ride down the Fräkigaudi toboggan run. Later, take a walking tour of Lucerne’s Old Town, visit the Lion Monument, and stroll across the famous Kapellbrucke bridge.

Day 6: Visit to WAGGGS World Centre - Our Chalet

Today is a special day as you visit Our Chalet, one of the World Centres of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) in Adelboden, Switzerland. Take part in activities with Girl Guides from around the world, engaging in leadership workshops, outdoor challenges, and cultural exchanges. This day is designed to empower you as global citizens and Girl Scouts, forging connections with fellow Scouts from across the globe.

Day 7: Munich, Germany

Travel to Munich, the lively capital of Bavaria. In the afternoon, take a guided bike tour through Marienplatz and the Schwabing student district, visiting landmarks like the Hofbräuhaus beer hall and Hitler’s former headquarters. Ride through the scenic English Garden, where you’ll even see locals surfing on the river. This active day encourages exploration and curiosity.

Day 8: Dachau & Munich Exploration

Start the day with a sobering visit to Dachau Concentration Camp and Memorial Site, learning about the history and human rights lessons of World War II. In the afternoon, return to Munich for a visit to Viktualienmarkt, the city’s largest outdoor market, offering a chance to explore local foods and crafts.

Day 9: Salzburg, Austria & Strudel Cooking Class

Travel to Salzburg, Austria, and embark on a walking tour of the city’s historic sites, including Mirabell Gardens, Mozart’s birthplace, and the Cathedral. In the afternoon, participate in a fun and interactive apple strudel cooking class, where you’ll learn how to make this traditional Austrian dessert, fostering teamwork and creativity in the kitchen.

Day 10: Innsbruck & Verona, Italy

Depart for Verona with a stop in Innsbruck, Austria, known for its stunning alpine beauty and as the host of the Winter Olympics. Take a walking tour of the old city and enjoy lunch before continuing to Verona, Italy. In Verona, stroll through the streets made famous by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

Day 11: Exploring Verona

Explore Verona with a walking tour, visiting the ancient Arena de Verona, Juliet’s House, and the lively Piazza delle Erbe. This day is a perfect blend of history, culture, and the romance of Italy. Engage in local traditions and reflect on the diverse experiences you’ve had so far.

Day 12: Milan, Italy & Farewell Dinner

Travel to Milan, Italy’s capital of fashion and design. Begin with a visit to the stunning Gothic Milan Cathedral, climbing to the rooftop for panoramic views of the city. Explore the famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, one of the oldest shopping malls in the world. In the evening, celebrate your journey with a farewell dinner, reflecting on the empowerment, connections, and experiences that have shaped your adventure.

Day 13: Departure

Transfer to the airport for your return flight home, bringing with you unforgettable memories of your European journey as a Girl Scout. You’ll leave empowered, inspired, and ready to take on new challenges back home!
