Greece Packing & Travel Guide
Athens • Mykonos • Santorini | July 2026
July in Greece is hot, sunny, and dry (85–95°F). Expect lots of walking, beach time, ferry travel, and full days outdoors. Pack light, breathable clothing and comfortable shoes.
Departure Day Attire
The Global Citizen Program will send you a program t-shirt approximately 14 days prior to departure. Please wear your GCP t-shirt on departure day, this will help your teacher-leaders recognize you when you land at the group’s hub airport!
• Comfortable travel clothes
• Broken-in sneakers
• A light layer (planes can be cold)
Airline Baggage Reminder
If you choose to check a bag for your flights, the airline will charge a checked baggage fee at airport check-in. These fees are set by the airline and are the responsibility of each traveler. Each student may bring:
• One carry-on suitcase (overhead bin size)
• One personal item/backpack (must fit under the seat)
These are typically permitted free of charge, but policies vary by airline.
Please note:
• Airlines may charge additional fees for overweight or oversized checked bags.
• Be sure to review your airline’s baggage policy in advance to avoid unexpected charges.
We strongly encourage students to pack efficiently, especially since this program includes ferry travel between islands and students will carry their own luggage.
