Packing Tips
Below is a recommended general packing list. If you have questions about your specific program, please call us at 978-255-4601 or speak with one of your leaders.
DEPARTURE DAY ATTIRE
The Global Citizen Program will send you a t-shirt to wear on your departure day. You will receive your t-shirt around 14 days prior to your departure.
KEEP WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES
You should keep the following items with you at all times to ensure personal safety during travel.

Passport (for international programs - must be valid for 6 months after your return date)

CARRY-ON BACKPACK
During travel, we suggest you keep these items in your backpack-style carry-on (in the unlikely event that your checked baggage is delayed by the airlines).
PLEASE NOTE
Per TSA guidelines, the total length, width, and height of your single carry-on backpack should add up to 45 inches or less and weigh less than 15 pounds. All liquids must be sealed into a single zipped, clear quart-sized plastic bag and each liquid is required to be less than 3.4 ounces in volume to carry onto the plane.

Extra set of clothing, in the event your baggage is delayed
Personal medications (in original packaging, with prescription label intact)
Physician signed prescriptions (including eye glasses) in case originals get lost
Extra pair of contacts/glasses, and solution (less than 3.4 oz)

Deodorant (less than 3.4 oz)
Hand sanitizer (less than 3.4 oz)
Comb/brush
Sanitizer wipes
Motion sickness remedy (if needed—in original packaging)

Voltage/current adapter (for European programs)

Travel journal and pen
Entertainment for the flight (book, magazine, cards, etc.)
Healthy, pre-packaged, non-liquid snack items
PLEASE LEAVE ALL VALUABLES AT HOME!
CHECKED BAGGAGE
We suggest you put the following in your single checked bag, which will not be accessible to you during your flights. You shouldn’t need these items until you arrive at your destination.
PLEASE NOTE
Per TSA guidelines, the total length, width, and height of your checked baggage should add up to 54 inches or less and weigh less than 44 pounds. Additional fees may be imposed by the airline if baggage exceeds these requirements. Each traveler is allowed only one checked bag.
