Day by Day Itinerary

12-Day Teen Travel Summer Program: Madrid (3), Paris (3), and Rome (4)

Day 1: Departure to Madrid

Board your overnight flight to Madrid, ready for an unforgettable educational adventure!

Day 2: Welcome to Madrid

Arrive in Madrid, where your Program Director will meet you at the airport. After settling into your hotel, head to Retiro Park, where you’ll explore the beautiful gardens, row boats on the lake, and taste traditional horchata. In the evening, join a welcome dinner with your group, introducing you to Spanish cuisine and customs.

Day 3: Art, Culture, and Cooking in Madrid

Kick off the day with a guided city tour and a visit to the Prado Museum, studying masterpieces by Goya, El Greco, and Velázquez. Then, head to the legendary Santiago Bernabeu Stadium for an exciting behind-the-scenes look at Real Madrid’s home turf. In the evening, dive into Spanish culinary traditions with a hands-on cooking class, learning to make paella.

Day 4: Explore Toledo

Travel to Toledo, where a local guide will lead you through its rich multicultural history, visiting the Gothic cathedral, Santa Maria la Blanca synagogue, and Santo Tomé chapel, where you’ll see El Greco’s famous artwork. Return for dinner in Madrid and end the night with churros and chocolate at the iconic Chocolatería de San Ginés.

Day 5: Fly to Paris and Montmartre

After breakfast, board a flight to Paris. In the afternoon, head to Montmartre, the bohemian heart of Paris, to explore its cobblestone streets, visit the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, and enjoy the artistic ambiance of this charming neighborhood.

Day 6: Paris Sightseeing and Montparnasse Tower

Take a guided walking tour with a local expert to discover Paris’ iconic landmarks, including the Palais Garnier, Notre Dame, and the Latin Quarter. . In the evening, enjoy a visit to the Montparnasse Tower, where you’ll take in breathtaking panoramic views of the Paris skyline, including the sparkling Eiffel Tower. It’s the perfect way to experience the magic of Paris by night.

Day 7: Impressionist Art Class, Musée d’Orsay and Siene River Cruise

Begin your day at the Musée d’Orsay, where you’ll admire Impressionist masterpieces by artists like Monet and Van Gogh. Afterward, participate in an interactive Impressionist art class, creating your own masterpiece inspired by the beauty of Paris. In the evening, enjoy a magical Seine River Cruise, where you’ll see the Eiffel Tower and other iconic landmarks illuminated against the night sky.

Day 8: Versailles and Fly to Rome

Take a morning trip to Versailles to explore its opulent palace and breathtaking gardens. Stroll through the Hall of Mirrors and admire the meticulously manicured grounds. Return to Paris and board your evening flight to Rome!

Day 9: Beach Day in Ostia and Pizza Making

Take a day trip to the seaside town of Ostia for a relaxing day on the beach. Enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and group games on the Mediterranean coast. Return to Rome in the evening for a hands-on pizza-making class, where you’ll create and enjoy your own authentic Italian pizza and then take an evening walk to see some of the major sights of Rome illuminated at night.

Day 10: Ancient Rome and Vatican City

Step back in time as you explore the wonders of Ancient Rome. Begin with a guided tour of the Colosseum, where gladiators once battled, and the Roman Forum, the political and social heart of the Roman Empire. Walk in the footsteps of emperors and citizens as you learn about the fascinating history that shaped Western civilization. In the afternoon, visit Vatican City, the smallest country in the world and a treasure trove of art and culture. Marvel at the grandeur of St. Peter’s Basilica and its awe-inspiring dome. End the evening with visits to two of Rome’s most iconic landmarks, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, beautifully illuminated under the city lights. Don’t forget to toss a coin into the fountain to ensure your return to Rome!

Day 11: Florence and the Renaissance

Take a scenic train ride to Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance and a city bursting with artistic and architectural treasures. Join a guided walking tour to admire the stunning Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Ghiberti’s Baptistry Doors, and Santa Croce, where many of Italy’s greatest figures, including Michelangelo and Galileo, are buried. Stroll through the Piazza della Signoria, home to impressive sculptures and Renaissance history. Later, return to Rome in the evening to celebrate your incredible journey with a special farewell dinner!

Day 12: Departure Day

Say goodbye to Italy and depart Rome in the morning, taking home unforgettable memories and a deeper appreciation for the cultures you’ve experienced.

Teens aged 13–18 can sign up for this program on their own or with friends. They’ll join a group of like-minded students from across the United States, led and chaperoned by experienced, passionate, and globally-minded U.S.-certified educators.
