Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Saturday, February 13
Depart Atlanta for New York City! Upon arrival, meet your Program Director and transfer into Manhattan to check in to your hotel in the heart of the city. After time to settle in and refresh, students will head to their first festival rehearsal, scheduled for either the afternoon or evening depending on the final festival schedule.
This opening rehearsal marks the beginning of an unforgettable musical experience as students begin working alongside talented young musicians from across the country under the direction of distinguished guest conductors and clinicians. The energy and excitement of rehearsing for a Carnegie Hall performance begins immediately!
Following rehearsal, enjoy a welcome dinner at a local New York restaurant before heading out to experience the excitement of Times Square. Surrounded by towering digital billboards, iconic theaters, street performers, and the nonstop energy of the city, students will quickly understand why New York is unlike anywhere else in the world.
To cap off the evening, ascend to the Top of the Rock Observation Deck for breathtaking panoramic nighttime views of Manhattan. From high above Rockefeller Center, students will take in unforgettable views of the Empire State Building, Central Park, and the sparkling New York City skyline — the perfect introduction to an incredible few days ahead.

Day 2 – Sunday, February 14
After breakfast, students will participate in another scheduled festival rehearsal, continuing to refine the ensemble’s repertoire while working closely with renowned conductors and fellow musicians from around the country. These rehearsals provide an incredible opportunity for artistic growth, collaboration, and preparation for the upcoming Carnegie Hall performance.
Following rehearsal, enjoy lunch and time to explore more of New York City. Students may have free time for shopping, exploring nearby neighborhoods, or simply soaking in the energy of Manhattan.
In the evening, enjoy a group dinner before heading into New York’s legendary Theater District for a Broadway performance. Watching a live Broadway show is an unforgettable New York experience, giving students the opportunity to witness world-class performers, music, storytelling, and stage production at the very highest level.

Day 3 – Monday, February 15
Today is the moment students have been preparing for — Carnegie Hall Performance Day!
Following breakfast, the group will head to Carnegie Hall for final rehearsals and an on-stage sound check. Students will have the rare opportunity to experience the incredible acoustics and grandeur of one of the most prestigious concert halls in the world as they prepare for the evening performance.
After lunch, there may be time to relax, explore the surrounding area, or prepare for the evening ahead before returning to Carnegie Hall for the main event.
That evening, students will take the stage at Carnegie Hall — an extraordinary milestone and once-in-a-lifetime performance opportunity for any young musician. Performing in this world-renowned venue, where some of history’s greatest artists have performed, is an experience students will remember forever.
Following the concert, celebrate this incredible accomplishment with a private catered reception hosted by the festival. Students, directors, and families will gather together to enjoy refreshments, reflect on the experience, and celebrate an unforgettable evening in New York City.

Day 4 – Tuesday, February 16
Enjoy a final breakfast in New York before checking out of the hotel and heading out for one last experience in the city.
This morning, visit the world-famous Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), home to one of the most important collections of modern and contemporary art in the world. Students will have the opportunity to explore iconic works from artists such as Van Gogh, Picasso, Warhol, Monet, and many others while experiencing one of New York’s premier cultural institutions.
After a final group lunch, transfer to the airport for your return flight home, concluding an inspiring and unforgettable New York City and Carnegie Hall performance experience.
