Sunday, February 28, 2027 – Arrival in Berlin and Transfer to Leipzig (L, D)

Willkommen in Deutschland! Upon arrival in Berlin, you’ll be greeted by your full-time local Tour Director,nwho will remain with you throughout your time in Europe. After loading your equipment truck, you’ll board your private motorcoach and travel to Leipzig (lunch allowance of $20USD included). This city is widely regarded as Germany’s musical capital. As you settle into this historic city, enjoy an orientation tour through Leipzig’s charming old town! This is the city where Bach, Mendelssohn, Schumann, and Wagner shaped Western music history. After time to check in and freshen up, gather for a welcome dinner as agroup and begin building excitement for the week ahead. Overnight in Leipzig.

Monday, March 1, 2027 – Workshop, Museum and Evening Performance (B, L, D)

Today begins with a full buffet breakfast before diving into Leipzig’s extraordinary musical heritage. Participate in a private orchestra workshop led by a professional local clinician. This hands-on experience offers students the opportunity to refine their craft in the very city that shaped so many of the great composers. Enjoy a visit to the Mendelssohn Museum, the former residence of composer Felix Mendelssohn. This visit offers a meaningful connection to one of the most influential figures in the symphonic repertoire. Mendelssohn served as Music Director of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra from 1835 to 1847, where he shaped the ensemble into one of the world’s premier orchestras. The collection here provides insight into his compositional process, his leadership at the Gewandhaus, and the historical context behind works such as the Italian and Scottish Symphonies – offering valuable perspective to inform both performance and interpretation. This evening, take the stage for your performance at Peterskirche Leipzig sharing your music in one of the city’s stunning sacred spaces. Overnight in Leipzig.

Tuesday, March 2, 2027 – Museum, Cultural Exchange and Transfer to Berlin (B, L, D)

After breakfast and checkout, enjoy a visit to the historic St. Thomas Church (Bach was the organist and choirmaster here, and it is the home of the St. Thomas Boys Choir). Also, visit the Bach Museum. The reconstructed Bose House stands in the shadow of the Thomaskirche. It was once the home of the Bose family, who were close friends of Johann Sebastian Bach, and now contains the largest Bach archives in Germany, as well as many mementos of the composer. Visitors can also view manuscripts and artifacts from his life, along with his final resting place. Lunch allowance included ($20 USD). In the afternoon, participate in a meaningful exchange experience with a local student orchestra. Afterwards, transfer to Berlin and, time permitting, enjoy an orientation tour of Berlin – the capital and largest city in Germany, renowned for its rich history, vibrant cultural scene, and iconic landmarks such as the Brandenburg Gate, Museum Island, and the remains of the Berlin Wall. Evening farewell dinner included, and overnight in Berlin.

Wednesday, March 3, 2027 – Transfer to Berlin (B)

Full buffet breakfast included at the hotel (or to-go breakfast – flight-time dependent), followed by check-out. Morning transfer to the Berlin Airport for flight home with memories that will last a lifetime!
