Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 - Departure Day

Board your overnight flight from Boston to Reykjavik, Iceland.

Day 2 - Reykjavik

Welcome to Iceland, the Land of Fire and Ice. Begin your journey with a visit to the world-famous Blue Lagoon, where you can relax in the warm, mineral-rich waters of a geothermal spa. Later, continue to Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital, for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 - Reykjavik

Explore the Golden Circle to see unique geological and geothermal features. Your first stop is the Hellisheidi Geothermal Power Plant, where you’ll learn about Iceland’s innovative use of geothermal energy. Next, visit the Friðheimar tomato greenhouse to taste tomatoes grown using geothermal technologies. Continue to the Geysir Geothermal Area to witness hot springs, geysers, and the impressive Gullfoss (Golden Waterfall). Finally, visit Þingvellir National Park, home to the world’s oldest democratic parliament and the site of the rift between two of Earth’s tectonic plates. Return to Reykjavik for overnight.

Day 4 - Reykjavik

Drive to the mountainous area around the Eyjafjallajökull Volcano. Visit the Lava Centre, an interactive educational exhibition depicting the volcanic activity that created Iceland over millions of years. Afterwards, drive to the Solheimajökull Glacier, the southernmost glacier of Iceland, and an outlet glacier from the main ice cap Mýrdalsjökull. Here, you’ll have the chance to walk on top of an ancient ice field and climb a body of constantly moving ice!

Day 5 - London

This morning, depart Reykjavik for London. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour of the city, including highlights such as Trafalgar Square, Tower Bridge, Big Ben, Hyde Park, St Paul’s Cathedral, and Buckingham Palace and the Changing of the Guard. In the evening, enjoy a traditional “fish and chips” dinner.

Day 6 - London

Visit the Tower of London with a Beefeater guide. Learn about the history of the Yeomen Warders, who were charged with guarding the palace and the Crown Jewels. In the afternoon, explore Covent Garden and Leicester Square, known for their vibrant cultural scenes. In the evening, attend a show at one of London’s West End theaters.

Day 7 - London

Travel to Oxford, the iconic British university town. Take a walking tour that includes a visit to Christ Church College, which inspired the Harry Potter books. See the stairway and the Great Hall familiar to fans of the film series. Later, enjoy a quintessential Oxford experience of punting on the River Cherwell.

Day 8 - London

Take a boat along the Thames to Greenwich. Visit the Greenwich Royal Observatory, where Greenwich Mean Time is measured. Stand on the Prime Meridian, the longitudinal zero point that separates the eastern and western hemispheres. Tonight, join your farewell dinner.

Day 9 - Departure Day

Transfer to the airport for your return flight home, enriched with new knowledge and unforgettable experiences.
