Health and Safety

Your child’s health, safety, and well-being guide every program we plan. From preparation through the journey home, our experienced team provides personal support and thoughtful care—every step of the way

“As Leaders we take a holistic approach to caring for our students while they’re away from home. From their physical health and safety, to their emotional well-being, we’re trained to not only keep our student’s safe, but to be a positive support system every step of the way.”

-Beth S., School Psychologist and GCP Leader from Connecticut

24/7 Personal Support

During every program, teachers, parents, and students have 24/7 access to our senior team. Program Leaders can reach us directly by phone, text, or WhatsApp, connecting them with people who know their group and can help. We stay in close contact with our local Travel Directors to monitor how each program is running, respond to concerns, and address potential issues early.

Clear Communication & Preparation

Feeling prepared starts with knowing what to expect. We provide clear, timely information about travel policies, program expectations, and practical details. Before departure, students and families join preparation meetings and online sessions covering packing, daily life abroad, and frequently asked questions, with time to connect with our team and discuss individual concerns.

Local Expertise & On-the-Ground Support

Experienced, professional Travel Directors accompany our groups, bringing local knowledge, managing daily logistics, and supporting students and teachers throughout the trip. They are trained in health and safety protocols and work closely with our senior team. Additional local staff are available to assist when extra support or an emergency response is needed.

Proactive Risk Management

We maintain a comprehensive risk management plan and monitor conditions in each destination using guidance from the U.S. Department of State, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and relevant international and local authorities. Updates from our local staff, global partners, and Travel Directors help us assess changing conditions and respond to potential concerns.

On-Site Inspections & Quality Standards

We regularly inspect hotels, restaurants, and transportation for safety, cleanliness, and quality. Our staff receive training and updates on health and safety procedures, helping us maintain consistent standards throughout each program.

Insurance & Additional Protection

Our liability insurance provides coverage for participating educators and their institutions, subject to policy terms. Travelers may also purchase optional travel insurance that includes medical, trip interruption, and cancellation benefits, depending on the policy selected. Coverage, exclusions, and eligibility vary, so we encourage families to review the available options carefully.
