Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival & Iconic Monuments
Fly to Washington, D.C. this morning. Upon arrival, head to the lively D.C. Wharf for lunch, then begin your exploration with a monuments and memorials walk. Visit the Jefferson Memorial, stroll along the Tidal Basin, and pause at the Washington Monument. At the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, take part in a name rubbing activity to make the experience personal and meaningful. Later, check into your hotel and enjoy dinner together. This evening, experience the capital illuminated on a bus tour that includes a stop at the powerful Lincoln Memorial.
Day 2 – Capitol Hill & History Up Close
After breakfast, dive into the heart of American democracy with a guided tour of the U.S. Capitol Building, followed by a group photo at the Grant Memorial. In the afternoon, spend time at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, a powerful and moving experience that deepens students’ understanding of history and resilience. After dinner, enjoy an evening walking tour through the White House neighborhood—see Lafayette Square, learn stories of presidents and protests, and capture a photo stop at the White House itself. This immersive walk brings the neighborhood’s history and symbolism to life.
Day 3 – Arlington, Museums & Historic Sites
Begin the day at Arlington National Cemetery, where you’ll pay respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, witness the Changing of the Guard, and visit President John F. Kennedy’s gravesite. Afterward, have lunch at the National Museum of Natural History, followed by time to explore its fascinating exhibits—from dinosaurs to dazzling gems. In the afternoon, take in panoramic views from the top of the Washington Monument, then step back in time at Ford’s Theatre, where President Lincoln’s legacy is brought to life. Tonight, enjoy dinner in Old Town Alexandria, followed by a fun and spooky evening ghost tour of the historic district.
Day 4 – Mount Vernon & Farewell
On your final day, enjoy breakfast before traveling to George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate. Tour the mansion and grounds of the first U.S. president, gaining insight into early American history and leadership. After lunch, make a stop at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo, home to giant pandas and hundreds of other species. Later, transfer to the airport for your return flight home—taking with you lasting memories of Washington, D.C.
